Lets skip for now the first 4 options, and see what options 5 6 e 7 are about
The Live Ice XP version is simply a Windows version that doesnt require any installation, just run it on the fly and access all your files normally, if your main OS doesnt load or theres something broken with it. Needless to say, its THE tool in case of emergency situations. Just google it up (Windows Live XP) if you need more info.
The Windows Emergency Recovery Console…Im sure you all know already what its there for, but anyway…it recovers the system when it’s really messed up and won’t load, plus some other nice XP recovery tools.
Last but not least, Hiren’s bootCD is just another recovery and diagnose set of tools that you can run at bootup, that you might need.

Installation:

As I’ve already said, the whole process will be Unattended, which means you wont have to do anything after you’ve hit the installation button. Once it’s all done, the only thing you have to do is type in the main user account name, and then choose what software to install (if theres any you want) from the Ice Post-Install interface.
Windows Ice Xp v4 Evolution can otherwise be installed as an upgrade (if the OS you are attempting to upgrade is compatible), so you wont need to boot from DVD.
In case no error message pops up, you are good to go and your system will be upgraded to Windows Ice v4.
It might ask for a key, so just check the !CRACKS! folder, you’ll find one.

La distribution Windows XP Pro Coccinelle s’est donnée pour mission de préparer un Windows XP mis à jour et débarassé de ses bugs connus, tout en offrant des fonctionnalités supplémentaires, soit en utilisant des fonctions et programmes cachés de XP, soit en rajoutant quelques outils dont l’absence native manquait cruellement.

Voici quelques info sur les modification apoprtée:

Mise à jour des programmes intégrés:
Sun Java 1.6.3, Notepad2 2.0.18, JKDefrag 3.26, SIW 1.71, Starter 5.6.2.8, FoxitReader 2.2
Mise à jour des composants:
DirectX, des bibliothèques Runtime, Internet Explorer 7, des polices Vista, de Windows Update Agent

- Aucun pilote SATA/RAID/SCSI n’a été rajouté. Chacun s’armera donc de ses propres pilotes pour la reconnaissance de ses disques.
- Suppression de .NET Framework 1.1 (les programmes tournant sous Framework sont dé****ais quasi tous compatibles 2.0
- Suppression de Paint.NET: pour les besoins courants ou le copier/coller d’une capture d’éctran, MSPaint suffit. Les graphistes avertis installent en général leur propre logiciel de retouche.
- Suppression des codecs WMV9VCM, qui sont automatiquement installés si requis lors du lancement de WMP.
- Suppression de Winaudit, qui faisait double emploi avec SIW
- Suppression de 3D MineSweeper, qui faisait aussi double usage avec l’autre démineur en 3D
- Suppression du PowerShell. Réintégration, y’avait de la place et j’ai lu sur un forum que c’était terriblement utile !
- Suppression de Windows Messenger 5.1. WM5.1 a été réintégré car sert de base pour certaines fonctions spécifiques de WLM.
- Suppression de certains écrans de veille en 3D très gourmands en ressources
- Ajout du programme “Clavier”, lancé au démarrage: il permet d’accéder à toutes les majuscules accentuées du français par la combinaison de touche ‘WINDOWS+minuscule_accentuée’.
- Ajout de la gestion des lecteurs virtuels dans le panneau de configuration
- Ajout de l’utilitaire en ligne de commande “Calc2.exe”: il permet de faire des opérations complexes en saisissant directement une formule comme on le ferait sur papier.
- Une nouveauté essentielle dans le panneau de configuration: la possibilité de rechercher sur Internet d’éventuelles mises à jour des programmes installés.
- Déplacement de certains programmes dans Program Files/UTILS (Foxit Reader) et /WSTARTUP (Clavier, IcoSauve). Pour IcoSauve, désormais il se détache automatiquement de la mémoire après chaque lancement. Pour sauvegarder ou restaurer la position des icônes, passer par le menu contextuel du poste de travail, renommé pour l’occasion en “Mon Ordinateur”.
- Par défaut certaines options peu usitées par l’utilisateur lambda (MAKECAB, Enregistrer DLL etc …) sont désactivées dans le menu contextuel. Ces options sont réactivables dans les options du Registre disponibles dans le menu Démarrer.
- Lors de la création d’un nouveau compte utilisateur, possibilité d’appliquer directement toutes les caractéristiques de XP Coccinelle d’un clic en lançant le fichier de registre disponible aussi dans le menu Démarrer / Options du Registre. On verra ça pour la v4 car il y a pas mal d’incompatibilités entre utilisateurs, faut gérer ça ligne par ligne.
- Quelques changements cosmétiques ont déjà été intégrés en prévision de la v4. Mais globalement vous retrouverez la même chose que sur la métamorphose, la partie visuelle n’étant pas finalisée pour la v4.
